About

Boxer Briefs by Sam.

While travelling about during the Summer of 2018, I'd pass the time at various airport terminals and bus stations by trying think of clever phrases, and jot them into my Little Red Writing Book, the very first one I ever had.

Soon, I decided to formalize this game. I would look at a random object around me, and try to come up with an absurd phrase related to it. The only rule was that the phrase could be no longer than one line in my journal. I referred to these phrases as Boxer Briefs, simply because they were brief. Here's a picture of the second set of Boxer Briefs.

Later on in the summer, I thought to myself that it could be fun to make a comic strip series. I didn't know where to start. What would it be about? What would the characters be?

A few weeks later, I had an epiphany. I already had a few pages of Boxer Briefs at this point, and I realized that these one-liners could be the source of content for the comic strip series. Additionally, to pay tribute to the origin, the characters could be boxer briefs!

As soon as I returned home from my travels, I created a template for the panel I could reuse for each strip, and soon I made my first Boxer Brief by Sam.
